Terms of Use
By using Toast, you agree to these terms. Please read them. If you don't agree, don't use Toast.
What Toast is
Toast lets a host collect short video messages from friends and family and turns them into one tribute film for someone's birthday, wedding, graduation, or other milestone.
Early access
[Toast is free to use while we're in early access. That may change as we introduce paid plans. We'll give existing hosts notice before anything changes for events they've already created.]
Your content
You need the right to upload anything you send through Toast, and you need the consent of anyone who appears in your video to film them and share that footage. Don't upload anything you don't own or don't have permission to share.
Content we may remove
We can remove, or decline to include, content that's abusive, illegal, or violates these terms.
Your film
Once your film is made, it's yours. You can download it and share it with whoever you'd like.
Our license to your content
When you upload a video or other content to Toast, you give us permission to store, process, and edit it solely to provide the service, meaning building and delivering your film. [We don't use your content for anything else, such as marketing or training our own models, unless you separately agree to it.]
Music
[Films may include background music. Some tracks we use are Creative Commons (CC BY) licensed; where that applies, the credit is shown in the app.]
No warranty
Toast is provided "as is" during early access. We're actively building it, and features may change, break, or not work the way you expect.
Limitation of liability
[To the extent the law allows, Toast and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] aren't liable for indirect losses, like lost data or a film that didn't turn out the way you hoped. This section should be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.]
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION].
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Toast changes. We'll update the date at the top when we do, and let you know if a change is significant.
